the nail diaries presents…just a touch of love

i’m not going to write a huge post today. just wanted to show you guys how much i love nails and nailart. here a few photos of some things i have done in recent days.

this design was inspired by the Tiffany & Co. boxes and it featured China Glaze For Audrey.

next, i saw a rainbow design and wanted to duplicate it. i added clouds and birds, but the clouds ended up looking like sheep. i may have to try this one again sometime soon. it features way too many colors and brands to name her. i may do a tutorial with the colors at a later date.

and lastly, i tried out a colorblock techinque and overall it came out really well, but you have to let the polish dry otherwise you get a huge mess!!! this is a definite do-over. features Essie Chinchilly.

the nail diaries presents…oldies but goodies

hey guys! happy independence day for all americans! hope you are enjoying the sun wherever you are. now back to business. as you all know i am trying my hardest to stay current with my blog posts but life just doesn’t let that happen, so while i have a few minutes i’m going to take them and share with you a few things i have been working on.

by now everyone should know that i am in school to be a nail technician and what fun it has been. tiring, oh  yes, but so much fun. and art is one of the better aspects of it so here are a few things i have done.

the nails below belong to my mom and thankfully, she has gotten used to my idea of being a nail tech. well, i hope she has. she wasn’t real supportive at first because she claims i’m ”wasting my talents”. what “talent’s” she’s talking about, i have  no idea! i used Essie Bikini So Teeny on her and believe me when i say that this color looks good on EVERYONE, so go buy it!!!

hey guys. two posts in one day! shocker right?!?!? it comes as no surprise that the latest post is one dedicated to nails. since i have started school my obsession with them has gone from mild mannered to full on crazola (you like my new word, right? right!). so here is the latest in my steadily growing obsession, i present to you green grape surprise.

hey guys. how has this week been for you? it was a crazy one for me and i’m glad to see it end! happy father’s day to all the wonderful daddies out there! what better way to celebrate father’s day then with a food post!!!

i know most guys only like to eat meat, meat, and more meat, but sometimes as ladies we have to be a little forceful to make sure that our guys eat right. here is a good and easy recipe that you can make any night of the week.

first, i would start off with a type of fish that can be pan-fried (i like tilapia) and make sure to thoroughly thaw it out if it’s frozen. i don’t mind frozen fish at all, in fact the only fish i think should always be served fresh is salmon, but that’s just my opinion.

hey guys. so  life  has really taken a short detour (arrests, court dates, potty training) so i apologize for being so crazy with the posts. but i’m going to make it a point to post not only for you my avid readers, all four of you, but for myself as a way to get out all of the nastiness in my life.

now that is out of the way, YAY!!! hope you guys are  in the mood for a super sweet nail tutorial cause i loved doing it! nail art is really jumping off this year, not sure why exactly, but who am i to not jump on this bandwagon. nail polish and art is the best accessory because for only a few dollars (at the most $14 per bottle) you can totally change your look with just the swipe of a brush. so here is my take on a really cool gradient nail design which i am entitling “my starry winter’s night”.

a book is a garden and an orchard…

from time to time i get chances to sit and read a  good book. in years past, i would always finish a book *a VERY good book* in a matter of days, but with life coming around me from everywhere it takes me a little bit longer. recently i was introduced into the world of suzanne collins and her “hunger games” series, which i actually happen to enjoy. this series is a trilogy and my co-worker still has the third book. damn her!!!

the first book so named “the hunger games” is about katniss everdeen and how she is going to survive a “battle of death”. it’s really good, but the downside is kids are killing each other *which sucks* but the overall storyline is one of overcoming fear and adversity in the face of danger. kind of reminds me of a black-haired wizard with a funny scar, right?

here is my review from goodreads.com and i hope you decide to pick up “the hunger games” for your book collection. mine is very large, you’ll see.

this is my third time reading this book and it gets better everytime. suzanne you remind me so much of jk that i had to keep reading. not going to give any spoilers away just that there are a LOT of twists and turns and be prepared to be shocked and amazed.

taking matters into my own hands…

so i am upset. i am failing you guys as a blogger. but never fear myeya is here!!! i apologize again for the spaces  in between posts and i hope that you’re  still here with me. but enough tears, here is today’s post and it about what…NAILS!!!

i recently decided that i was tired of my life so i did something about it. i’m going back to school!!! and not school like you think, but school for nail care. hurray!!! it seemed to be the most logical of things to do. so by this time next year, hopefully, i will be well into my new career as a manicurist!!! would you guys come see me? i hope so and i have a fun tutorial on an easy nail art technique.

as you already know, i go to Sugarcoat for a lot *well all* of my nail art designs, but this time i wanted to see if i was  up to snuff so i tried one out myself. this technique uses tape and believe me you’re going to want to take your time with it.

first you paint your nails the desired base color *i chose opi’s ”thanks a windmillion” and you can see miles in the background standing right in front of the tv, oh geez*

mommy, i found the golden egg!!!

time has passed and i feel sad. but here it is folks. a new post!!! yay!!! life has gotten complicated *VERY complicated* and i needed to reevaluate some things. but i am back now and better than ever! so now for the new things in life.

easter this year was in april and the weather was especially nice *now, not so much* and my kids grandmother (or Nana, as she likes to be called) had an easter egg hunt at her house. it was funny seeing the kids picking up the eggs and examining them, so much so that they stopped taking pics and just went for it. here are a few photos of that day:

so from the title you would think i’m going to talk about craziness, but i’m not. the kiddies are growing up so fast and i just wanted to put up a few recent pics starring aurora and miles.

as you know the babes are still in the toddler(miles) and the pre-school(aurora) age and are easily worn out. thankfully when they fall asleep, they stay asleep.
